Once installed WordPress I had to customize it for how I wanted it to be.
The 1st thing I removed was comments! There’s not need to have them on this site ..
Googling I found that, if I wish to disable comments I have to go to Settings -> Discussion and from there, unmark “Allow people to post comments on new articles”.
Pretty simple! But not enough because it only deactivate comments from (next) posts writing on the bottom of the post itself “Comments are closed” and I still have the possibility to leave comments on the single page such as about me, curriculum vitae..
Solving it is easy, WordPress has the option to edit php pages directly from the administration panel,
for the posts I modified comments.php
<p class="nocomments"><?php _e( 'Comments are closed.', 'twentyeleven' ); ?></p> <?php endif; ?>
<p class="nocomments"><?php // _e( 'Comments are closed.', 'twentyeleven' ); ?></p> <?php endif; ?>
I just marked it as a comment so the code will not be executed.
For single page instead I edited Page Template (page.php)
<?php comments_template( '', true); ?>
<?php // comments_template( '', true); ?>
Same as before !
From now on WordPress will not show the comments template from pages and from posts there will not be written “Comments are closed” !
Much more clean (: it works with Twenty eleven theme
